I would like to bring some nuance. The baby boom generation (‘40-‘55), very much enjoy their stay on this planet, inluding the often early retirement...
Generation X, grew up and had a difficult start during the oil crisis, progress was difficult because the positions were taken by... baby boomers, and now after all the waiting the Xers find that retirement has become a moving target. This is way they are sometimes called the lost generation.
These are gross generalisations, and ignore the many positives that all share due to progress of science and not too much of politics screwing up. Neverteless a nuance I would like to make.
