Hi All,

In October I finally got my Aero S1 light weight development car road registered....who said hope it doesn't end up a saga!!

I haven't done many miles as there are still a few teething issues including :-
1) Speedo doesn't work - so still only shows 19.7 miles
2) Heater not working
3) Throttle pedal always has a lag ( this may be related to the air flow mass meter not being connected but I was told it's worse when this is connected???? - Another owner believes this may be the issue!!

Any ideas or anyone within a reasonable distance who can sort this would be apreciated.

Regards

Hi Andrew

My heater did not work and required part of the wiring loom to be replaced. Understand there is a factory fix for this and that it is not uncommon. The 'fix' results in the recirculation switch being disabled!!! Mine was repaired by supplying Morgan dealer.

Dear Andrew & "1560",

at least in the current traditionals the speedometer is easy to re-adjust to the actual tyre-circumference. Just hold the reset-button pressed before & whilst turning on ignition. Then the odometer will read sth. like "021200". Now the first digit will start to flash.
The digit flashing can be set by repeating pressinf the odo-reset button.
The flashing will automatically go through the digit-line then. After having set the last digit the digitrow will jump back to odometer (mls).
For example you will end in "022800" & have a testride, comparing the odometer with a GPS to match.

I´d hope procedure is similar with your Aero´s.... innocent

Thanks for the replies so far. The speedo and odometer don't work at all. I was told by the Morgan specialist that there was a signal / power at the speedo but he hadn't got to the bottom of the issue (by which time I had decided that it was time to get my car back due to lack of progress...and I had lost confidence).

Seem to remember Cerealsurfer saying something about this not an uncommon issue ( any thoughts Andrew?).

Regards

The speedo on my Aero 8 also over-reads by close to 10%. I tried your fix with the odometer reset and it works, so many thanks. Life would be so boring without learning!

Cheers

Did you just changte it to 022800 from its original reading and it worked? If so, I'll give it a try too - mine overeads by about 15% which also probably means that the mileage currently showing as 30K is in reality only 27K.

Sorry.. only just seen this.

Indeed the speedo is based on a hall effect sensor. The Speedo interprets this by a calculation to give mileage and speed.

I have the number of "pips" per mile the speedo should see somewhere in my paperwork (will have to look later). There is a simple process which sets the Speedo into programme mode so you have configure it.
