You don’t loose any parcel shelf luggage space with the roll-bar. There is a bit more of an art to getting bags in due to the diagonal, I tend to in-popper the roof as I have fixed seats. If you have seats that fold forward - you’ll be away.

Not wishing to drift this great thread, but who makes roll bars for the 4/4 then?

I presume there may be different versions from FIA approved to 'street' use only?

Can you still have the roof up and over it?

I have always wondered about this as most Caterham's seem to have roll bars fitted... and there are of course obvious similarities between the cars...

You could fit a Librands roll bar. It is road orientated rather than track and doesn’t have a diagonal bar. It will stiffen up the chassis and not impinge on luggage space much.

Safety Devices, Techniques amongst others make ones that are certified. I do not believe the Librands one is. Depending on year / specific sub model 4/4 yes you can get the roof up. I have roll bars on both mine and I can get the roof up over the top...

cerealsurfer, are your roll bars from Techniques? Do you think an easy up hood will fit over the roll bar you use? Do you have photos of one of your cars with the hood up and down?

Neither are Easy-up. One is a 72 4/4 and the other is 84. I’m sure Brian at Trchniques can provide further info.
