I have, over the last year or so emailed various companies that make custom wheels.
Most have not replied, however i have had a prompt reply today.
Details as follows.

Hello.
Can you make these wheels to a specific size?
The reason i ask is, as an owner of a Moragn 3 wheeler, there are currently no after market wheels available for this car.
Should you be able to, there are a lot of owners looking for something different.
Dimensions required are as follows;
2 1/2 x 19 width and diameter.
42 mm diameter centre. Knock off hub. Rudge Whitworth splines.
Outset 37 1/2 mm.
Back spacing 24 1/2 mm.
Currently owners are using Moon Discs to gain this look.

Should this be possible you need to price for 10 pairs with the option to make more.

Thank you for your e-mail, unfortunately our suppliers in the USA do not offer a wheel like this. I think it is a regular wire wheel that has had a spun aluminium disk added to the wire wheel. If you want a wire wheel then you would be best speaking with Peter at Richard Bros in Cardiff. He makes wire wheels to order. The company that makes the spun alininium disks is called Metspin.

Tyres, not a problem we have a wide variety of sizes and brands all from stock.

John, I'm not all that familiar with the terminology of the wire wheel sizes, but 42 is not the mm of the spline, but some type of a model number for that particular size splined hub.

Others can probably explain better.

So if you're checking with others just say a #42 spline and that should be sufficient.

I also did some checking many months ago and the Detroit wheel guy did reply but had to say nothing they had would work for a splined hub.

Now if that's the case and on the other 19"x3" wheels with a 5x4.5" and 5x5.5" bolt patterns, maybe someone can just use a stock un-laced new splined hub and develop a bolt pattern where the spokes get threaded in and then you bolt the wheels to the splined hub. It may take some machining to first make a flat surface on the hub and then a machined disc with the appropriate bolt pattern that gets TIG welded onto the hub to receive the new bolt-on wheel.

I know, tons of work for not much benefit. But sounds cool to have disc wheels instead of spokes.

Good news.
I have just received a call from Nigel Cousins of Metspin
He has said he can make wheel discs to suit or a complete wheel.

He would need to see a car so he can take measurements.

If there is anyone in the Hampshire area that could pop in to see him, that would really be helpful.
If anyone could help, that would be much appreciated.

Price would depend on how many are ordered. But i guess the more, the cheaper so to speak.

He makes stuff for Rolls Royce, both car and aerospace, so, once complete should look really good.

I know there are owners and interested parties that are not on Talk Morgan.
I will make a small post on FB, on the Morgan 3 wheeler page. Just to gauge how interest there is.

I'm not in the market but I think the wheels on the electric M3W look best. My 1930 Sunbeam came with Ace wheel discs but I never fitted them to the wire wheels.

Good stuff. I think I would hold out for guncarriage style wheels rather than a cover, but will need to think about it!
