Still don't know why they had to re-invent the wheel. The Tesla drivetrain and battery system is available for other manufacturers to use. One of Elon's key goals was to make everything open source so others could take advantage.

Will have to ask about my deposit when I get a chance

Me too. (Ask about my deposit that is.)
I wonder what will happen to the various prototypes?

According to the Telegraph the project is said to be ‘off the table’ in terms of date.
Morgan are said to be contacting customers to refund deposits or to offer an alternative product!

Unlikely. It could be their most profitable ever. Government gave them six million to develop it and they haven't got to repair any products under guarantee. They've also had all those deposits....
Here's the link where mmc announce the grant, which interestingly talks of developing power train which is the bit Fraser Nash were supplying? Perhaps I've misunderstood it?

Things are moving quite quickly in the sparky world, we are utilising the I3 battery in some marine projects for propulsion and in another project which will change the shape of Americas Cup yachting substantially.
A shame that Frazer Nash couldnt have also utilised that battery and some proprietary motors to give a very useful range to such a lightweight. I see a number of Air New Zealand staff driving past my office everyday in their BMW I3's and some of them rack up the miles.

Not a lot of room in the M3W for either Tesla or i3 drivetrains. Could be room in the forthcoming alloy chassis though which will be interesting.

In my opinion this is wisdom on Morgans behalf. Better to back off pushing out a product versus dropping one and having gobs of issues and obtain nothing but negative press. It is something which could have a lot to offer. The only way I could see a small manufacturer electric car make sense is if the chassis was built entirely by a major electric company and a body was dropped onto it by Morgan.

So, bearing in mind M3W have two wheels at the front, this would become rear wheel steer than Paul smile
