Cruel report also from Southern Europe. Tomorrow I'm heading off with both Morgans to the https://www.raceready.pt/copia-algarve-classic-festival-pt-1(it is the event where I found all three Plus 4 SLR's last year) I hope to drive a few laps around Portimão as I did last week at Estoril

As it cools off in the mountains of Southern California (yes, it snows at 6,000 feet), we prepare the M3W for winter by driving it back to Phoenix😁.
Sorry Michael, I know that was unnecessarily cruel... Iz OK. I came from California. People keep telling me to come back so I could drive year round. I'd rather drink tar. Rubbing elbows with 40 million peeps causes me to break out in hives...

Isn't the commonly available Avgas low lead (in comparison to conventional high lead Avgas) rather than unleaded? There is supposed to be unleaded Avgas available but I have know idea how available or how much. AVGAS 91/96 UL is increasingly available, typically 10 to 15p a litre cheaper than 100LL. The nearest airfields to me that stock it are Compton Abbas and Popham. Good stuff. I've had people insist to me that 100LL was unleaded which was simply not true but it's a long time since I've tried to get any sort of Avgas for anything. AVGAS LL has 0.56g/L tetra ethyl lead. The old 100/130 AVGAS had 1/12 g/L. Each gram of TEL has 0.6 g of free lead in it, most of which goes out in the exhaust. So a 85L tank fill of 100LL in the DH Tiger Moth will have 50g actual lead in it. Another important point is that AVGAS has no alcohol added, no oxygenates and has a much tighter volatility specification to prevent fuel vapour locks. Increasingly engines are being certified to use MOGAS, (Standard Motor Fuel) but it is on an individual aircraft installation basis because of the fuel vapour lock issue. In some cases the fuel system requires substantial modification.

Finally did the deed. Pulled the battery and locked it up. The wind chill in this thing is no fun and the amount of air being pulled in the foot wells is amazing. It picked up since I put the Fairbourne screen in.
It has been a good year. Turned over 45,500+ as of today and it has been a very good year with minimum down time. Coker Excelsior tires will be ordered before decanting in the spring and I might pick up a cam belt just as a back up. An all weather cover is seriously on my mind as well. We shall see. It was time for a break and I think I shall remove all the tools and spares from the dining room table and swap them for some vacuum tube amplifiers and parts. It's Switch Hobby Time!
