So what this means is the car will tomorrow get booked in at FAKT to have the exhaust homologated - which is good news for me, but less good news for any other sidepipe equipped Supersport in Switzerland. Thanks for your support My rear exhaust is no more on sale

Once I get the final details - and associated information - I'll make sure you are informed. At least you were sold a car with a legal exhaust system

Bad news - FAKT are unable to homologate the exhaust or enable the car to stay with side exhausts. Anyone near me got a similar aged Aero, Supersport, Coupe or Max I could listen to as a passenger? The dealer is in breach of contract and so we have a strong legal back out - but I am unsure whether to take the money and move on OR go for the rear exhaust.

You have to feel a bit sorry for the Dealer, the car is what it is. However to get yourself sorted out of this swiss nonsense and save a polar bear maybe a dialog with Morgan the dealer and yourself and get one manufactured for the test. Brain surgery it ain't, we have several bespoke exhaust guy's in the UK Longlife being just one there must be some in Switzerland.
Good luck Em

The "issue" is that dealer imported the vehicle from MMC - and didn't order it for a customer. It is #3 IIRC The dealer is the "official" Morgan importer for Switzerland - so sympathy is limited.
It never came with the standard rear exhaust and the dealer got it tested at the test centre near them where there is an understanding on noise.
But now mine has been tested as too loud - it needs to be made legal before it can be used. And that means the dealer has to do the work come what may.
I'm feeling very grumpy about the whole thing.
(My gut instinct at the time of test driving the Morgan was "I don't like this guy (the salesman), I don't trust him.")

It never came with the standard rear exhaust and the dealer got it tested at the test centre near them where there is an understanding on noise. I imagine the original "understanding" tester risks a control if someone thinks that the original test may have been fudged.

Rumble rumble rumble Not the side exhausts - but the attempts to make the car legal.
The car has now been deregistered and the importer has now had the car failed at the local test centre.
They now want to fit rear exhausts and repair the wings. (All at their cost).
If I do take the car back it might not be back before the end of the year at this rate!

I'd insist on new wings, supplied ready finished to fit by MMC. Would Swiss Law allow you to reject the car and demand a full refund, as you were sold an illegal vehicle? Good luck with this.
