Finally I can say “yes”. Picked up my Mog after 3 months out of commission following the burst radiator and engine fire at Le Mans. The longest, hottest, driest summer foe 42 years and I missed most of it. At least the sun is shining today though.

Beautiful, calm photo's John. Looks very tranquil. You're probably right about the Bonnie, my '76 one has the rear caliper underslung & yours has the later upstairs version. Mind you, I bet that one hasn't got an elusive electrical short like my damned thing has..

Judging by the number of holiday homes yes it is. But not spoilt. The Outer Banks are really popular with fishermen lots of pick ups loaded with rods and other fishing paraphernalia. If I knew how to add photos I would.

Friday drove from Kill Devil Hills up through Virginia Crossed on the Chesapeake Bridge and Tunnels, 13 Miles then cruised up the farmland of Eastern Virginia in glorious autumn sunshine to Chincoteague Island. Another 190 miles. Spent the evening at the NASA facility at Wallops Island one of the rocket launch sites for exploration missions. Today it’s a rest day. Onto DC tomorrow. That’s 3280 miles since leaving Jersey City and yesterday spoke to the first American who owns a +8. (1970).

In the Mog all day today Up to Grange to see my parents then on to Ulverston to meet up with my family visiting Rachel’s sister’s family
After I set off I had to ring Rachel to ask her to bring my trench coat as I had completely underestimated the weather - it got a bit damp and a bit chilly North of Lancaster
Returned back from Ulverston with Rachel’s 9 year old nephew as my passenger

Went to a car car show on the Westbury village green today. Perfect weather, great cars and people, and Elrond is transformed with new Leaf springs and new AVO Dampers. On the speed limit with no sphincter clenching as we met large dips in the road, Elrond took it all in his stride and gave a smooth and great fun drive.

Went for a short drive yesterday. Car has not been used much lately so shakedowns before next month’s MOT needed Went to Nort Gower via Penclawdd (famous for cockles). On to Llanmadoc, back to Burry Green then over to Reynoldston. Returned over Cefn Bryan past Arthur’s Stone to Three Crosses and back down to Gowerton then home. Lovely weather and a big enjoyment factor. Not a big mileage but a start for pre MOT “throat clearing”. Mainly back roads. Speed watch in Penclawdd area due to average speed cameras.
