Hello all fellow M3W lovers...
Have gone ahead and just spec'd out and ordered my M3W... thrilled to get her. Went ahead and requested a proper classic spec, black with green quilted leather, Brooklands wheel, vintage bonnet catches, chrome pack, vinyl tonneau, Union Jack badges, full windscreen, etc.
Should be built the 7th week of the new year in February. Have almost thought of looking into factory collection though don't need to spend any more on this unnecessary (but sure to be extremely fun!) toy...
Not my first sports car rodeo as I have owned many pieces of English iron over the years... several MG's and Triumphs, Healey 3000 (big), and still have my E-Type... the Morgan will be in stable with good company.
Any required reading/materials while I wait out the next few months for my beauty to be constructed???
From the colonies, Royal Lichter Chicago IL

Welcome Royal, and congratulations.
Peter Dron's Book - "The Morgan 3 wheeler, back to the future" would be a good place to start.

Welcome Royal a lovely classic colour scheme there, wishing you many happy miles when you take delivery wherever that might be. This is the sort of fun these boys and girls get up to . http://www.talkmorgan.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/533289/1

Hi Royal, welcome to the eclectic group of M3W enthusiasts!
On your comment "...looking into factory collection", I think this would be amusing (best case) and incredibly frustrating (likely case) to actually arrange. Unless you happen to live near Malvern, or can travel with no advanced notice, predicting the week or month, perhaps even the year, that your car will be completed is just flat impossible. I suspect they may be able to notify you when it's done, but expecting Morgan to be able to predict it - in advance - is folly I believe.

Hi and Welcome The reality should be better than that.. Your dealer will be told when your body is about to go on the built up chassis so if you wish you can visit the factory and see your car whilst getting a free factory tour plus chat to the builder who might be persuaded to apply his signature. not so easy if you are a few thousand miles away though!

Welcome. I am a fellow Chicago-area owner. Dealing with Norb, I presume? Let me know if I can be a resource at all, and in case you were not aware, there is a Windy City Morgan club.

Norb is my go-to for all Morgan parts! I agree that factory collection is a pipe dream for anybody from the states because of the delays. Check when my car was done! I have my own dedicated thread! some folks were saying that it was completed and that I needed to make my final payment while actually it was still a separate Body and Frame waiting to be Assembled. But to be fair I have to take my fair share of the blame for the delays, my car was the first production one with the new windshield and with the new dashboard , and the new Bonnet catches and the optional rear fender. Some of those things were prototyped on my car for production. If you do go, stay at the Wyche Inn!
