Most fall into the trap and call the Classics and 3 wheelers sliding pillar but of course they are not, we have aired this one several times over the years on TM http://www.talkmorgan.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/224365/The_pros_and_cons_of_sliding_pI had a good close look at one of these cars at a local show and it is amazing the likenesses but then again it's from a similar period, it was a thing to love.

Lancia were one of the few manufacturers that did actually use sliding pillar way back between the wars. The stub axle was fixed to the pillar which did slide.

I find it too depressing to see the ghastly cars being badge-engineered as Lancias, when one considers what wonderful cars they used to make.

Yes I know what you mean, the Galaxy type people mover with a Lancia badge on it did for me I'm afraid. They have made some works of art in their time, they may have shared similar qualities to the Angel of the North but we forgave them that..

Yow. That's a real beauty.
Reminiscent of a Bugatti T57 Atalante.

I expect we all remember the Top Gear episode when they revealed that on 10 viewers had voted for Lancia despite building some of the most wonderful cars ever made, my personal favourite being the Fulvia S3.
Here for a good time not a long time!! Reg
