How on earth do I choose a colour scheme for such a unique car? It seems every 3 Wheeler I see is green!
Thanks for all your help!
I recommend a very bright colour.
You are in something small, low-down, near-silent and capable of moving and changing direction more quickly than other road users might expect. Do you like orange?
Stuart "There's no skill substitute like cubic inches."
Hi two tribes, my 1st car was orange so it is a distinct possibility, although an electric blue does appeal, as does the stock Morgan red.
Hi Matty, at the moment they are not being sold as such. Morgan has opened the book to reserve order slots due to popular demand. The price is not yet fixed but is quoted as being close to the price of a stock 3 Wheeler. Production start is also not fixed other than being 2017. To reserve a slot in the queue you need to make a £1000 deposit, which is refundable if you don't like it following a test drive. To be honest it is a bit of a gamble but the money would be doing sweet FA in a savings account at the moment so I am not losing out on much.
I got my reservation number this morning. I won't reveal it as I am not sure Morgan would want that sort of information public, but between the 1st time I contacted Richard Thorne last month and making my order, the queue has become 50 places longer, so there does seem to be a fair bit of interest.
So the next step will be either a factory visit when a demo is available, or a visit to Richard Thorne's if there is a demo tour.
I would prefer to visit the factory and chat to the engineers involved as I do have some interest in electric car design. In fact a few years ago I was the second choice for being the program manager to look after the DTI electric car research funding program, but I lost out to someone from the automotive business. I think I got as far as I did because I had done a paper design for an EV conversion of a Lotus Elise (because I am a bit of a geek) and as such had a lot of technical information at my finger tips following the research I had done as part of that design. Once upon a time I was an electronic engineer, but succumbed to the dark side of project management in the late 90's but still like to tinker.
The limited edition Selfriges ones are going for somewhere near £50k... According to our guide at MMC yesterday. No price mentioned for the ones on "general" sale.

Do Selfridges have a Boxing Day Sale? Perhaps a half price one? Mind you the last time I bought something electrical from the store the box said it was supplied without batteries....do hope that won't be the case with this one....I dread to think how many AAs I would need. Perhaps that's what the luggage is for....spare batteries...
Thanks spunagain. I had toyed with the idea of an EV 3 but my old girl just wont cut the mustard on a trade in. She is up for sale(again)if you just can't wait and want one with a "real engine'
Big fan of electric too. Drive an Ampera for the day job and my new lease car will be the VW GTE. I am in Woolhampton, just up the road from you.
