Glad you are ok now, horrible experience,
Reading all the replies makes me recall a few near misses and my tendency to perhaps push on a bit in the Morgan and my replacement C type, they are incredibly vulnerable and should be treated that way, today I’m going to fit a small note on my dashboard saying “THINK “.

With the experience of driving the Mercedes at night do you think that had the Morgan had modern LED lights and ABS you would have seen the accident in front of you sooner and been able to stop, or avoid?
I don't think I would have seen the stationary cars any sooner in a Mercedes .. the issue was it took some valuable seconds (roughly 2) before I realised they were stationary. when it is pitch dark all around you, with no other moving lights, it takes a while to realise that the lights are not moving .. you simply don't expect 2 sets of car lights on a completely empty unlit motorway to be stationary No sure ABS would have help either .. the ARP4 did not skid or lock its brakes .. there simply wasn't enough space

25 years ago on a naI was unscathed.
that's really good to hear. I was sat too close to the steering wheel (just the way my body is), and that is what caused the bulk of the injuries

I don't think any amount of defensive driving or other anticipation would have prevented this accident; it was just very bad luck due to terrible timing and circumstances couple of pics of my dearly departed one off ARP4 ..

Glad to hear that you are well on the road to recovery - very sad for the ARP4 which I saw with you when over here in Ireland -- Best of luck for the future and maybe I'll see you again in a new Morgan!
