Got rid of the 1st new motorcycle I bought, my Royal Star Venture. Bought in the summer of 2000 (always had second hand bikes before), used it for work and touring for 3-4 years then just little trips thereafter. Racked up about 80,000 miles though. Also gone, my 1961 Triumph Trophy. Just doesn't get the use it deserves. And finally an old CCM endure bike I got for a bit of green-laning.

However, to cheer the day, I do still have another Royal Star Venture and another couple of green -aning bikes and a few cruisers! Plus stepped over to the dark side a little and have a new Indian Roadmaster on it's way for some big road trips.

Love Indian motorcycles, was up the NEC bike show a few weeks back drooling over the new FTR's and the Scout/bobber. love Unfortunately not enough room in garage for both. frown

Mainly done before I used cars regularly for work. Now the bikes are purely for pleasure.

That must have been a wrench on the heart strings.

My cousin Patrick still has the BMW R80 which he bought new in 1985. I well remember sailing down to Cornwall and back with him just before he collected it from the dealer, and how dizzy with excitement he was at the prospect.

He was complaining to me the other day that from April next year he won't be able to use it in London without paying the congestion charge, to "save the environment", when in reality by keeping a well maintained motorcycle for 33 years he's been doing the environment a favour.

Well our MPs don't. I loved them being told to grow up & stop squabbling.
