Greetings All, After a long delay, (I signed up in October )but I have not introduced myself. My name is Dale, and I am in the process of rebuilding two cars. One being a 1967 Morgan 4/4 that is a basket purchase. I will be looking for help in the rebuilding of the front suspension, among other issues that I have only limited knowledge so I hope I have lots of help out there. The other is a 1958 MG Magnette model ZB. It is complete but has not been on the road since 1998. My finished project is a 1955 MGTF that I restored 8 years ago and drive for my fun car. I am looking forward to the spring to get back into the garage and going to work. I will keep in touch. P>S I am looking for a manifold or header for a 1600 Ford crossflow engine if anyone out there has one.

Hi Dale, and welcome. It's nice to hear that another 1967 4/4 will be rebuilt, though she seems to have a later engine. 1967 would be pre-crossflow but only few have kept it (me among others).

May I advise that you post your future questions under "Classic Morgans" to make sure that you get the right answers.

Greetings
Frank

Thanks for the info, there looks to be a lot more than the front suspension that I will need help on. I am not sure now if I have a 1500 engine or the 1600. Is there an easy way to tell them apart? I do think the manifolds would be the same but I am not sure now and still learning. Dale

The 1500 has inlet (carburettor) and exhaust on the same side (left side in direction of driving) while the 1600 has the inlet on the right side and exhaust on the left (hence crossflow).

Manifolds and most other parts for the 1600 are available from BurtonPower (www.burtonpower.com). Parts for the pre-crossflow are more difficult to find. Lotus specialists are sometimes a source.

Thanks Frank for the information. For the winter, I am away from the car but if my memory serves me it is the 1600 crossflow. Now I am very anxious to have the winter break and get back to business/playing with it. Dale
