You could be right M3W55.

It will be interesting to see where this goes. No warranty I would assume with plenty of upgrades required.

When the Delorean was developed they made enough parts to build 35,000 cars but only sold 9,000.

The remaining parts stock now resides in the store of the Delorean Motor Company in Houston, Texas.

You can still get about 98.5% of all parts required to build a new Delorean with 90% coming from NOS held in Texas and the remainder are remanufactured items in the aftermarket which is very active.

Engines were Volvo, transmission - Peugeot, brakes - Jaguar & Cortina so plenty of supply.

Parts are reasonably priced. Shipping is expensive but prompt with great service provided across Delorean dealers in the US, UK and Europe. Interestingly, DeloreanGo based in the UK is a major supplier of parts which are cheap by comparison because the Pound is so weak and they will ship for free over a set order level.

Take a quick look at the interactive parts identification and order site of the Houston office.....

Thank you. There is so much that one can learn from this site.

With that out of the way, I can spend an exciting evening watching the bidding on the M3W.

Reserve Not Met at $34,100. Not surprising, since I now see it had been on Hemmings at $60,000 (bonkers).

Slow and steady bidding with this one. Once again plenty of references to TM for advice on upgrades etc....

US$34,100 bid but no sale - did not meet reserve

I am a little surprised this did not do better given it is a completely unmolested, un-driven seemingly pristine unit.

You may have seen that of the last 15 XKE auctions on BAT, only a third have made the reserve.

I did spot that good Sir. Suppose it says something about the state of the car market. That sort of Jaguar offering is a bit of a "Bell Weather" in the collector market.
