I don't know about new Morgans and if the suspension is in any way different to my 1997 Plus 8 but I have always jacked under the damper blade to take the weight off the suspension. This helps the grease flow to where it should be and you can watch to make sure it does! (As advised by Techniques by the way). It just seems a awful long way down a remote greasing tube!

As the original inventor of the kit I’m obviously a fan of remote greasing BUT. I also agree that you MUST get underneath every 6 months or so to check all fasteners AND to see that no grease is getting anywhere near the discs. I am somewhat confused with this remote kit. I assume it is for newer Morgans that must have a modified kingpin to allow grease from the top nipple down the full length of the kingpin? Certainly the original kingpin will not allow grease to go all the way down, unless it has been drilled. Also how does the lower grease reservoir get grease under the damper blade, or does the modern Morgan not have this? How do you ensure that you have not over greased or greased enough if you are not looking underneath?

Why worry about a greasing kit, fit Vesconite HiLub bushes, which in theory do not require any lubricant. However if you are a belt and braces like myself a little squirt won't hurt.

Bruce - modern Morgan’s do not have damper blades they have ball races under the main spring on top of the stub axle. Yes the top of the kingpin has a grease nipple and is drilled to allow grease go down to grease the top bearing. As to the right amount of grease, it becomes second nature after a while and I do remind people that you MUST check underneath from time to time. It’s much easier to use the remote when away from ones normal garage and that is the major benefit.
It does not mean you should ignore the practice of checking all fasteners on a Morgan!!

Excuse me for the thread drift, but I am intrigued by the Vesconite. I know the product, and I have looked ut the company's website. I have a Devol car with 30k km and althoug there is no sign of KP play today, it will come one day. So which is best/cheapest/easiest, new hardchrome KP + bronze bushes? Hard chrome KP + Vesconite? Just new Vesconite and retain the KPs (depending of KP wear of course)? And how do you go about to get the proper size Vesconite?
