I don’t think I could part with it now, and it’s probaly just as fast as a plus 4 with the upgrades anyway, which is all part of the fun.
I love it to bits
For me, this is the whole point about Morgans - they are all about building up a relationship with the car over a long period - none of them offer instant gratification and they all have niggles which need to be ironed out. It doesn't matter what you end up with so long as you love it. I know there are folks out there who like to change their car more frequently than I change my undercrackers, and jolly good for them too, but I honestly think they are missing out a bit on the enormously rewarding aspects of long-term ownership. I very much agree. However; Owning and maintaining 3 Morgans is not a good way to go IMO. I had and having a great time building and improving My +8 Bitsa. I learned a lot about the various aspects and capability of a +8. Recently I installed a aftermarket EFI with very interesting results. Better? I am not sure but certainly different. I have a design and pictures of a trailing arm coilover rear suspension. Not sure at this late date in My life I will get it installed. I have driven a Morgan with this suspension and again interesting but certainly not necessary. Just adding a panhard rod probably be enough. However; My 1963 +4 4Str is a better handling and riding Morgan by far than the +8. My +8 is on a par with a 2000 +8 I drove for several thousand miles a year ago in Northern California. So I am quite sure My +8 Bitsa is about as good as it gets.

Button, you make a very valid point: we may change components and clearly the make the car different...but better?
All cars are a compromise and a change that I think is wonderful may be heartily disliked by someone else.
I did quite a lot to Aldermog, but I've changed virtually nothing with Tarka. Why? Because MMC got the car "more right", if I can say that...at least for me. A Sports car it is not, a grand touring roadster it is.
The cr has to connect with the driver: I love my little BMW M140i. Caroline hates it, she loves her AMG C43 Coupe. Two very different cars, both great fun when used to their advantage.
So it is with a Morgan. Define what you want to achieve, then look at a lot of cars and make a decision. My pal Ian doesn't want a "finished" car, but one that he can take and evolve into something that makes him smile. It will be a fun journey to share with him.

I get a kick out of the word "Tourer". No matter where I go it is at least 2 days and 2,000 miles. No matter what Morgan I drive I am in it for a long ride. Fortunately I am retired and no longer have an appointment book. Also the Lady I travel with owns a Morgan and has traveled long distances longer than I have. She like the +4 or the DHC. My +8 Bitsa makes Her nervous, I think. Maybe it is how I drive it. I like to exercise the V8.
