That sounds like something rather nasty that you have to visit the clinic with the green door to get rid of to me.

That's nonsense Max.
They will need to extend it up to the people's republic of scotland in order rejoin the disparate parts of Europe. Worse thing is they will expect us to do it instead of using the European Grant Pot like Spain etc have on roads.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Well I hope the business man who lives near the new Birmingham station will enjoy getting to Euston 18 mins faster whilst other lives are blighted.
We lived close to the route & are glad to be away from it now. It seems unstoppable & I think there must be dodgy deals going on. A total waste of money vs other priorities like trans penine railways or hospitals

We seem to stumble through many similar projects. The background to many seems to me to be pushed by lobby groups with vested interests and using forecasts that would stand out in the fiction/comedy section. So a massive cost will save 20 mins on the travel time for limited numbers of passengers. Tickets at a premium? Whoopee-doo! I could understand Concorde up to a point as it enabled big time saving for a long journey but even so it was expensive. A great example of national prestigetoo, BUT Meanwhile those on the route will be upended and blighted, the building companies will earn ££££££, Politicians, of course( !) will not benefit in any way. When ESSENTIAL sectors are starved of money this project is obscene. Wilson cancelled TSR2 due to cost so a precedent is there. The Welsh Assembly wasted £9M on the Circuit of Wales and we’re highly criticised by the watchdogs. The “backer” was of dubious intent and money not wisely used ( edited comment). The political industry is alive and well in Westminster. Lobbyists prevail.

We could charge Scotland for the use, sell them a narrow corridor to use, get Boris to help with a bridge across the North Sea. A tunnel...... Bob....no offence intended. You can come South any time.
