I just took delivery of a 2018 Roadster, in the United States. I am assuming there is already wiring for a radio and speakers some where?
Can some one either send some pics of the radio/speaker jack or tell what and where to look for?
Wiring colors to use?
thank you

Ed,

there should be a "box" on the transmission tunnel deep under the dash. It will have a black plastic plate on the front. The wiring for the Radio is inside.

I fitted speakers, radio and antenna to my 2009 Roadster. I've sent you a pm with my e-mail as I wrote up the installation in detail, it is a pdf file. Send me an e-mail and I'll send the details over to you.

There is also a thread here with the details, but the search engine here is not something I get on well with!!

Hi Ed, below is wiring schematic for horns and radio on latest Roadster, assuming you spec'd factory radio installation kit.

Zoom in and you can see the two connectors involved with radio. C.123 is the power connector with permanent and switched feeds. C.124 the speaker connector although only wiring for two (front?) speakers. The connetor pin-outs follow standard radio layout so should just plug into flying leads on your radio.

As suggested look in area where standard radio fit is expected, below and towards bulkhead to find above, also antenna lead.

If you have FM/DAB radio an antenna splitter with amplifier is available to feed dedicated DAB antenna. Depending on radio and splitter, this can be powered from radio itself or feed from switched power source.

There would be two "ISO" connector blocks with a standard wiring. One is for the ignition power, power and earth. You can indentify it where not all holes where used. The second block is for the speakers, also a standard configuration. And easy to indentify: all holes are used. The four middle wires are for the fitted speakers. The black line shows the earth.

Good luck!

Is there a better type of aerial than the old fashioned vandal magnet. Anyone tried using the boot rack?
