Good morning all. I'm new to the forum and looking to purchase my first Morgan. I'm currently looking at a 1964 4/4 that looks pretty clean but I'm not sure about some items. I've been trying to search for the type of engine it should have, the owner claims it's original but I'm not sure where to go to find out. Also I've been looking at all kinds of photos of '60s interiors and can't figure out if this one has been altered or not. It only has 2, a multi gauge (with "Morgan" in the center and a speedo. In many of the photos I've see there is also a tach on the dashboard. According to the owner the vin is B912.
Any help would be appreciated
Thank you, Joe

Hello OCJoe and welcome to the forum. May I suggest you put a post in the Welcome section regarding this as it might get more notice.

Hi Bob,
Thank you for the advice. I'll repost it in that forum.

Where are you from . If GB give a couple of Morgan garages a call and keep a pencil and pad near your phone . Most Morgans that old and younger may not be original after having several owners who do there bit to it then pass it on . Even rather new ones look very different . But you can still get your hands on old dials .

It's a Series V and the VIN no's correct for the date. The original engine should be a Ford 116E 1500cc pre-crossflow. All the dashboard photos I've ever seen of of them included a tacho, which doesn't necessarily mean that 'yours' isn't right. Most of the information from Ken Hill's book Completely Morgan Four-Wheelers 1936-1968.
