"Fun at legal speeds"? Not at all sure about that one.

How many Morgans? Go on - tell us. Maybe tell us what you are trying to say too. grin2

“Interesting project but isnt the purpose of a windscreen to shield you against the wind, the key being the name?”

And stuff flying up from the road- I got a bolt/ rock straight into my windscreen of my previous 4/4. Without the windscreen it would have been straight into my face.

If my Speedster hadnt had a screen on it when I bought it- it would have either been the first thing I added - or two full face helmets-probably with polycarbonate visors!

Sorry to be boring- but I’m no hero when it comes to taking risks like that- especially when you see what the effect was on the toughened glass screen.

Kev- Good to see that you now agree with my views on Throttle Bodies however!!

I love the racy look Kev, it’s not for me though.

I don’t have a issue with the safety, it’s far safer than a motorbike and arguably, I drive safer and more risk aware when I’m enjoying driving, tootling about like all the other zombies on the road with brain on power saving mode is way more dangerous.

No, the reason I wouldn’t want it is, although the car looks cooler, the helmet would spoil my hair! laugh2

I understand he drives with a helmet & visor.
Let the man have fun & celebrate his eccentricity.

I had to think about "screens" many times in the in the past.
Important is that Polycarbonat (also called Lexan, Macralon etc.) is nearly unbreakable!
But very important is the radius of the edges!

I have seen a customer who had an accident and crahed with his face into the screen of a motorcyclefairing!

In Germany a radius minimum 5mm is requested by law.

You dont want to see the cut in the face,,,,.

Ok quick response before I go out on one of my favourite drives up the Yorkshire coast.

The Aeroscreens are laminated glass.

I wouldn't venture out with either screen option on motorways or A roads without my full face helmet:

Howard..the point I was making was that it is not uncommon to see lots of Porsches and even Ferraris and other exotica on the roads but hardly ever a Morgan !!!..we all like individuality as petrolheads I think.

70 mph with aeroscreens or cut sown screen feels like 170 mph and it is the nearest I can get to a motorbike for exhilaration.

No such thing as bad weather...only the wrong clothing .

I have other vehicles for transport but the Morgan is for fun fun fun.

Forgot to say my insurer Gott and Wynne are aware of mods and state that I am not required to fit the hood when I park up.

Highly recommended sensible insurer !!!

Steve19 I will pm you later...off to terrorise the Yorkshire roads.

I love the look.

The 'Speedster' was the car that took me directly to my +8. Unfortunately being tall ruled the Speedster out as I sat comfortably above the aero screens and it was very uncomfortable driving at high speeds or cold weather. But I am sold on the look.

I like the new look. Good job, sir. thumbs I agree about the helmet too. Having been caught on the M4 in a hailstorm it hurts! That was with a full height screen in a trad too.
A local Taffmogger has a M3W and he put a fuller screen on to replace the aero screens as it gave better protection.
