Peter - they would always check under the bonnet and behind the seats. They lowered the barriers at Hegyshalom during my time in the East. I am sure it was because of my car. I am convinced I could have made it underneath before with no roll bar and windscreen, but would not have dodged the machine gun bullets. Happy days indeed.

Stephen; I can relate to your adventures albeit not in a Morgan. I lived and worked in Moscow in 1988 and then in both Warsaw and Moscow (had apartment in both cities) from 1989 to 1993. Later in 1996 I moved back to Warsaw until 1999 when I came to the US. Life was certainly exciting and educational, I drove and traveled all over Eastern Europe. As with you many exciting adventures and stories up the wazoo. Detained on a number of occasions which added a certain degree of spice!!
