Noggin would work.
A noggin is wooden brace between joists etc.
So a wooden open top car is bracing.
My red Plus8 is Scarlett. A feisty redhead after Maureen O’Hara. Scarlett O’Hara
The 4/4 before her was red and named Maureen. The Plus8 is Scarlett more of a handfull so a feistier name.

Our car is called "little jeannie " after my late mother, after all, a bit of inheritance paid for her.
The porker replacement car is " little jeannie 2"

We called ours The Captain which I think its quite a cool name for it. Road Pirate, AAaargg.
I had an MGBGT once which I called Suzy Q and the current fam car, a Volvo, we just call 'the big V'
