Talk Morgan Forums Morgan Sports Cars Classic Morgans (pre-CX) +8 Alarm and immobiliser

Hi all, a little while since i have been on the forum, so belated Christmas and New Year greeting to you all.

Due to my uncurable hobby of collecting cars and bikes - ensuring that they are all insured has become a nightmare - so i am currently investigating a multi-car and bike policy that will cover all toys.

The problem is they require the +8 to have an alarm and immobiliser - has anyone fitted one to their car? Unfortunately the battery isolator does not suffice!!!

Also does anyone know when i can purchase a spare battery isolator key please?

I tried a multi policy last year with non Morgan specialist and had a similar requirement. Also they insisted on a Thatcham approved alarm system and Thatcham immobiliser. The Morgan fitted version in the Roadster was not good enough, so this was a further complication to the new fit.
I abandoned the research

I may insure all the other vehicles with the policy and insure the Morgan separately - doe anyone know of a good specialist insurer whom they can recommend?

Gott and Wynn, have been excellent on service and price for me. Plus the all important "Agreed value" is something a non-specialist is unlikely to offer.

Can't help re the alarm and immobiliser, but Demon Tweeks seem to sell a variety of spare isolator keys

Thanks all for your input - spare keys have been ordered and i am currently phoning the specialists for car insurance as it now looks like i will insuring the rest of the fleet on a multi-vehicle policy and the Morgan will have her own separate cover as i really do not want to fit an alarm and immobiliser to her.
