OK this is a bit of a moan but I suspect many will agree with me. I am idly looking for another toy car - maybe Ferrari, maybe Aston, maybe even Aero. But what I find in the listings are endless numbers of cars in grey or black or white.
Why, for heavens sake? Are there so many undertakers selling off their toy car?
Just looked through the PH listings of V8 Vantage roadsters and the first page of 15 cars are all in the above non colours. Not a red or blue or green amongst them. Search for Ferrari and you get one more colour added to the list - Rosso Corsa. But that apart its again all black or grey or white. FFS why would anyone want a black ferrari? A car thats supposed to make a driver happy!

I don’t know the answer to your question. I do agree with you though.
If you want bright colours you have to look at little cars - Fiat 500 for example. You see lots of them around in pastel shades. The Abarth version is a hoot. Not exactly a Ferrari, but at least more likely to be found in a cheerful colour.

You only have to look in car parks or dealers forecourts, the majority of cars are black, grey or silver. My Fiesta is Race red and the Merc metallic red, I too like a bit of real colour for my cars.

I agree, one of my favourites is the lovely dark metallic red option on the lowly Clio.

People get too hung up on resale values.
But some manufacturers have dull choices.

Go on Howard, we all admire your lust for life, buy that Aero and in a whacky shade, it would be the event of the year for TM.

What's the problem, buy the best deal and wrap it in the color you like!

Interesting topic. One man's sophisticated range of greys is another man's 'dull as ditchwater'. I guess that it is a fashion thing with an impact well beyond cars and is reflected in clothes, interior design etc. It would be interesting to see whether historians have attributed the use of colour in our lives to the political and cultural moods of a particular period. It is also interesting to see that younger drivers seem to like black. My son has just bought a black car and everything inside it is black too, including the headlining etc. It is like being in a cave, but he loves it. Morgans are probably one of the only cars that are bought in such a diverse range of colours and an analysis of the trends in colour use in the company may produce an interesting chart as I can't see any parallel with the colour selection in the wider automotive industry. It might also be interesting to see wether different countries favour different colour ranges. For my part I like lighter colours and, in particular lighter interiors but I am having to hold on to my tin-top as i can't find a replacement colour arrangement unless I buy brand new and I have never done that!

I have a chum with a black Ferrari - he thinks his customers won't know what it is.
