Part of the limits offered by manufacturers is resale value. The boring colours will sell easier than the ostentatious ones. Some are offering different colour schemes by adding colour variants for wing mirrors/roof/stripes.

As for Morgans, well the styling is the major visual and colours are less critical. (Discuss.......).

Howard....it is about time you bought a Morgan. Get it wrapped to whatever colour you want. A 2 tone would add scope.

Where does common sense and reality come into a decision like that? Nowhere! ooo

In any case the 430 was brilliant in the twisty bits. Way too fast to be any fun on dual carriageways.

Had a pal who was well off back in the day and had a succession of E types. His two V12 ones were in pink and in canary yellow.

Just looked through the PH listings of V8 Vantage roadsters and the first page of 15 cars are all in the above non colours. Not a red or blue or green amongst them. Search for Ferrari and you get one more colour added to the list - Rosso Corsa. But that apart its again all black or grey or white. FFS why would anyone want a black ferrari? A car thats supposed to make a driver happy!

it's not everyone like fancy colours, also try to resell a Yellow or Lime Jaguar/Benz/ Aston/Rolls you will see

See the sales speed of E-Type in fancy original colours and the more traditional and for sure you will understand.

when you throw £200K in a car you think resell ...

As some said wrap it in any colours you like and subject is done smile

You all complain about dull and grey colours, but the truth is you all have a tin top in a variable of these colours WHY? because its "trends" unknownly you fill in market research forms etc and you choose these colours for furniture cars and clothes; then the designers take the information and turn it into colour, you are unaware, but you did actual choose the colours your seeing, the exeption is when you want a little different and special you make it special by ordering a bright colour, bit like wearing a xmas jumper once a year; when you feel brave or did not mind been stupid for a day.

When I chose the colour of a new car recently, the dealer said 'well, yes, that colour is becoming more popular again....'!

Silver!
And actually I wish I'd chosen grey.

Howard, good luck with selecting a colour! The Chrisrmas gift for my wife was a tango red audi S3. It looks great, and such a colour is a great help in finding your car on a parking lot. Recently, I had a non descript and grey coloured korean rental car, when on a business trip in Houston, TX. I really had trouble finding the car, I had to use the license plate info from the lable on the key...
Also on car interiour colours, I have come around, where I would have opted for black, I love the light colour for my Mercedes S.
Go for colour, who cares about resale value, you only live once!
Cheers,
Bert

Today I am agreeing with Howard, of course the solution to his dilemma is to order a 110 roadster in whatever colour combo he desires, good value through some dealers at present and after being a lotus man he could up spec it with SSL suspension . Out here in the colonies you would not go for a black car or upholstery for obvious reasons .🌞
