What is slightly daft is that some who go to lots of trouble speccing their beloved Mog end up not driving it hardly at all and then it ends up on Pistonheads as a very low mileage car , why I wonder when they went to all that trouble ?

For us it had to be either Orange or Yellow, but that was the last thing we decided before signing up.

One of the difficulties is that there is no "Morgan colour".
If you buy a Ferrari red makes sense, silver for merc or BRG for Jag.
So with the Morgan it is literally up to you ...
And when you are sightly OCD it gets hectic...

point taken... but I doubt that will be me... drove an 1989 MX5 for over 10 years as an only car and never had an issue with it...

Some time ago there was a thread discussing the factory asking the dealers to carry stock in order to ensure people had test drives etc. They built a finance program to support this.

My guess is that some of the cars you mention are probably these carts being sold on the end of their demo period? The dealers do tend to spec them quite nicely.

As mentioned being able to spec the cars to your own personal taste is great but being able to get a nice spec the same day for instant gratification at a good price will make quite a few people jump I suspect.

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

but then why go to all the trouble of owning a morgan if you can't suffer through the whole process...

Maybe because whatever the colour you will grow into it?
I have had 2 Morgans....both Corsa Red. Both used not new. Bought because of what they were not colour. If two similar cars were up for grabs then perhaps a non red would have won the vote.
Yes it is nice to spec your car but why agonise over the colour?
Same with the extra shiney bits.....do you REALLY NEED them?
The extra ££££ could be better spent on petrol!

Er ...er.... er.....

But they are shiny

(I would be hopeless if I was choosing a factory made Mog, I don’t don’t how I would ever make a decision)

Mmmmmm Shiney Shiney spend love

Re factory decisions etc, I found it really hard to do.

Luckily at Oakmere when we went there was a Plus 4 in that looked (to me) great, so I kind of pointed at it and said “one like that!”.

Except of course it wasn’t quite like that by the end of them taking the order ...
