I have acquired a push start button with two screw contacts on the back. Which wires from the ignition switch should I use? Thanks. Meabh - a sometime apprentice sparks.

You'll probably get a sensible reply before I find out, but I'll have a look in the morning as I've just bought a T16 +4 from BHM with a push button start. By the way where in SW France are you? we have a house down there, a lovely place to pootle around in the Mog.

We're further West, in the middle of nowhere about half an hour south of Angouleme, anyway here goes with the push button: on the ignition switch barrel, opposite end to the key there should be five wires... brown in the centre, to one side a white with red stripe and close to that a white with green stripe, opposite these two is a plain white wire. On my car the white/red wire has been disconnected (cut) from the ignition and is now connected to one side of the push button, the other side of the push button has been connected into the plain white wire which remains connected to the ignition.I hope this makes sense and doesn't result in a load of sparks! coffee
