I'd very much appreciate some thoughts and opinions on the AR Racing sports exhaust system fitted with standard CAT, available as a free option on the 110 Plus 4.
For example, if you have one fitted was there a power increase and what are the noise levels - is it intrusive. Any other comments will be great too
Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Hi paddockman, welcome to the forum!
When I created the specification for my Plus 4 ( 2018 model), I also dealt with the subject of exhaust for a long time (one wants to have a nice sound). I then decided on the original exhaust (you can change an exhaust later if necessary) and am very happy about it. The sound is very good and not too loud. The sound has changed during the first few hundred kilometres and is now really fine. Performance improvement was not an issue for me.

Personally, I found the sports exhaust too intrusive. Of course, fun during a short blast, but tiresome on longer journeys. The original exhaust is loud enough for me. A nice exhaust note does not necessarily have to be loud for me.
I would like a few extra HP, but the fact that a tune-up for the current Plus4 is only available in combination with the sports exhaust did put me off.

Welcome.
Our 4/4 had a sports exhaust which sounded very nice but a bit tiresome on long journeys, the +4 has standard exhaust doesn’t sound quite as nice but is much easier on the ears on longer journeys, the choice is personal.

Likewise, the standard exhaust on my Plus 4 GDI seems to have improved with the passing of the miles. It is quiet enough through built up areas but has a nice crackle when giving it some beans out of town. I would tend to see how you like the standard factory fit then, if you desire, go for the upgrade at a later date.
Here for a good time not a long time!! Reg

I have the Librands sports exhaust (with the original factory manifold) it’s my favourite upgrade to date.
I’m not sure it’s added any horses, but the sound is just awesome !!

Whilst my experience is not of the 'Sports Exhaust System' offered as an upgrade on standard +4's, the exhaust system on my ARP4, which I guess is similar to the sports exhaust was certainly too loud after half an hour, with the result that I have changed the silencer for a slightly quieter one. This seems to be the experience of most people on here, however, if the 'Sports Exhaust' is a free option, I would suggest that you take it, and if too loud, change you silencer later. I'm sure there will be replaced standard silencers in the For Sale section from time to time, at very reasonable cost. You are then able to have a quieter car, still with a nice sound but with a more efficient and better manifold.
Result, the best of all worlds for not a lot of money.
Let us know what you do.

I very much appreciate your replies. I had a test drive in a Plus 4 with a standard pipe and it did sound good. The AR 'Sports' system seemed to be an expensive option on the car, but come as standard with the 110 Anniversary no cost option package.
I'm not sure if the system is Stainless or offers other benefits over the standard pipe.
These option boxes can get very tempting and expensive so it's always good to get the opinions of those that have tried and tested the equipment so thanks again for your comments.

Thanks Paul - that was my thoughts, can I ask what silencer you went for? Was it a standard Morgan?

Thanks in advance for any feedback. The only way to know wether the sound will be too much will be to have a passenger ride or test drive , its very much an individual thing and some better halves won't like'em.
