Good idea Dave. Would that be the black plastic spiral strip that binds cables into a loom? Much more substantial than that, tend to be used on rubber un-braided hoses

If its empty I would use DOT 5 on a 3.7 roadster as mine tends to boil on high speed European roads. DOT 5 has a higher boiling point.

Err, be very careful, correct in part - dot 3, dot 4 and dot 5.1 are compatible as they are glycol based and have increasing temperature ratings. Dot 5 is silicone based, entirely different and not compatible with other fluids.
If you are going to substitute dot 5 for 3 or 4 you may well be advised to either wash the system out or replace the rubbers in both cylinders.

Hi Chaps, jumping on this , please can someone explain how to bleed the clutch on the 3.7 roadster (2016). I can't find a bleed nipple on the bell housing and I understand there is this concept of suction bleeding that I have never heard of - and there are some videos on you tube that help !! Sorry to sound thick

Sorry to sound thick It's a concentric slave cyl, sort of combined with the release bearing & unfortunately does not have a bleed nipple facility I (sort of) changed my fluid by syringing out the reservoir & topping back up with new

how does any air get out then? Is that why the fluid reservoir sits so high wrt the piston?

Apparently they self clear any air when pumped, but I prefer a traditional nipple  I made sure not to empty the reservoir too low down

Merry Christmas all. My clutch feels spongy, my cotter pin/ linkages all seem fine, and my clutch fluid levels seem ok. Gear changes are fine , but I can feel this is an accident waiting to happen. There doesn't seem to be brake fluid on the clutch piston assembly (where it comes through the bulkhead) which makes me think the seals on the master cylinder are a bit suspect. Any ideas chaps?? My instinct would be to bleed it - but it sounds like that's not on. Any ideas???
