is the person who writes the cheque happy? Anyone else is entitled to an opinion but not much besides I might be missing the very obvious here but the flaw in the logic seems to me that if anyone considering writing a cheque feels that, after looking at what they have been offered that it is the motoring equivalent of three- times warmed baked beans ( and not very well warmed at that) then they won't write a cheque. Ergo, they have had an opinion which might initally have been positive and it has been turned into a negative one. At the risk of sounding repetitive - and I know I am- this is a great way to flush customer loyalty which has been accumulated over a long period down the pan very quickly G

A bespoke +4 with 200bhp for £40k would be more tempting. And I suppose that once the novelty wears off - i.e. supply exceeds demand, then these £50k cars might well be around for £40k. But then the +8 and Aero series 1 are in the same zone........
And thinking about it, with £50k to offload, a Series2 Aero is a better bet (IMO), than a new +4.
Good job everybody doesn't think the same..........

I don't blame MMC for milking the back catalogue - any company with a heritage from Rolex watches to Barbour jackets does the same, -I passed the new Alvis showrooms today, a new old Alvis -yours for £170k, suddenly the Mog looks good value. The important thing whether its Morgans [or even JE LRs]- is the person who writes the cheque happy? Anyone else is entitled to an opinion but not much besides I would be disinclined to cite the 4.3 Alvis (or even the JE RR) if I was you Easter. The Alvis is a continuation car using a re-manufactured engine from original Factory drawings and to all intents and purposes seeks to fulfil the 77 unbuilt 4.3s the Alvis board intended to produce. It is a beautiful re-creation virtually indistinguishable from its pre-1939 siblings. It is a steal at £170k. A pastiche it is not! If MMC produced a limited run of LawrenceTune rebuilt TR-engined +4s I would be first to congratulate them. There are plenty of TR engines and spares about. The Moss box would present a problem but a remote currently-available unit would not. Even superformed wings would be appropriate since Morgans never made their own wings anyway. Axle? BTR, Chris would have fitted one if he had been able to! Otherwise simple upgrades within the spirit of the real +4SS and current legislation. A steal at £50k. Better than a Harley-engined 3-wheeler any day! To suggest Barbour are capitalising on their heritage is just silly. They make the wax jacket (alongside technical-fibre versions) simply because nothing performs as well. I fear anyone seen driving this rediculous machine will fall victim to hoots of derision from the cognoscenti

I think the pictured is photoshopped, the way you can see IN the cabin, but not see the spokes in detail... tires don't look fat enough It does appear to be a doctored photograph but one thing clear in the photo and the RTCC pre release is that it comes with • "Minilite centre lock wheels" and not spokes. hope this is helpful in the tyre issue. I agree with the plethora of re - released nostalgic type models in that this is not where the future lies. I'm sure most of us can recall Rover in it's dying throes releasing a really hot V8 saloon redolent of earlier successes, to be fair on paper it looked good. The more recent MG's suffered from the same fate really trading on the past too heavily without going forward. Sorry off the soapbox now, I'd rather save a wee bit and have a current Aston Martin and rest in the knowledge that I have the real thing and not a placebo.

According to RTCC the Plus 4 Supersport has a 2.0 variable cam engine. I guess this means that the engine is the Ford 2.0 liter DI Ti-VCT (direct injection, twin variable cam timing). The stock engine has 155 hp and 196 Nm of torque and is flexifuel capable. Perhaps this limited edition is a preview of the standard +4 2012 models? Harald
