Does anyone know if one of them owns the car or if it is a demo/loaner ? A gentleman called Graeme Morrison has identified himself as the owner on the Facebook group Morgan Sports Cars (UK). He says he bought it from the factory and it will be going back to Inverness in May to do the West Coast 500.

Anything is a pleasant change from the usual TV diet of soaps, dancing and cooking - get a life - get a Morgan.
The 1936 4/4 (should be 4-4) must have had quite a resto job done on it to make it look like a 2 year old - maybe I should go in for the same treatment.

Don't be too sure about 4-4 Phil. There may have only been one car with that logo. It's a bit like the "wood chassis" myth...

Ken Hill's book Completely Morgan Four Wheelers 1936-1968 has this to say on the subject: "The designation '4-4' had been decided upon because the car had four wheels and four cylinders. This simple formula has been used for model names for all four-wheeled Morgans since. However, after the war, the company, for some obscure reason, changed the actual style of the name from 4-4 to 4/4, which has been the norm ever since."

I know what Ken Hill's, and every other Morgan history book quotes.
However, there is evidence that very few cars actually had the 4-4 designation, but it stuck - a bit like the wood chassis myth. It's one of those things lost in the mists of time.
