I will keep posting the build on here, so long as people are still interested.

Please do, we need to live vicariously these days. I am not certain I could put on a nomex onesie and wiggle past a roll-cage anymore.

Please keep posting. I find this build fascinating.
Helps us to understand how much work goes in to these cars.

Very small update today

The new union fittings have arrived from America. This is a M12 X 1.75 thread on one end & a -6 aero-quip fitting on the other.
These are to be used on the gearbox.
The one you see here will be used as a oil return, the other will be welded onto the gearbox drain bung.
This means I can now progress on designing & making the gearbox oil thermostatically controlled cooling system.

I will be doing the same on the differential.

VERY Interesting: what temperature should the gear box be when running?
The AMG has both engine and gear box oil temperature readout. The gearbox seems to run about 20C cooler than the engine, but I don't think it has a cooling system as such. It is well finned.

Peter I think your C43 will have a gearbox oil cooler/radiator. Most of the AMG models do. It is a very small radiator in up near the engine rad generally. Both of my previous models have had them.
