Hi all,

the new Plus 4 Sports features 205/65/15 tires – same dimension as the Roadster Sport. But just how wide are the wings?
Telling by the photos of this factory demonstrator, it seems to me it’s the same width as the Roadster. Anyone with a better sense of proportion?


My question is whether 205/65 will fit my 6’’ wires and of course the wings of my existing Plus 4 without excessive rubbing.

What did I do wrong with the pictures? Why don't they show up?

No everything is fine, I see them all 3

I looked at the cars last week at the factory and I'm pretty certain the wings are the same.

From these pictures the wings look to be the same width as my 2009 Plus4

I've been comparing several photos now. The Sport is much wider than a standard Plus 4.
Check out the gap between the grille and the headlamp cowls. Please also note the clearance between the wheel apertures and the tires. I presume its the same width as the Roadster Sport. Except for the exhaust and the badge it is almost undistinguishable from a Roadster Sport.

I wish that MMC would offer 4/4 body width with +4 engine. The trend to go wider is not really to my taste. I might even be tempted to order a new one if that was on offer.

I must say I agree with you Dave, it seems like the Plus Eight story all over again. I really like the width of the late eighties /nineties plus fours. I think that there are a lot of like minded folks out there. Meabh.

One of the reasons I kept the '76 4/4 and sold the '98 +4. The other being to invest in property, though that hasn't gone ahead (so far) due to other circumstances...

I see driving a Morgan also as a personal statement against the trend of ever and ever growing size of modern cars.

However, I like the (normal) +4 in its current guise. The Roadster is too wide for my tase and somehow looks out of proportion. The low profile tires and the 16" rims also contribute to the very "modern" stance.
From this point of view the Roadster Sport with 205/65/15 tires was at least a small step in the right direction.
A wide body +4 has very limited appeal to me.

I should add the I like the look of fat tires nontheless. I've seen a +4 on 6.5" Dayton wires and was blown away.
