Help me out people!
Is ownership frustration my problem or is it all part of the Morgan experience?

My 16 month old Euro 3 M3W (one of the last ones out of Malvern before the Euro 4s came on stream) has only 9000 miles on the clock. To date the following has been required on the car:

1. O ring fitted to bevel box - it was missing from new
2. Rusting bright pack cowl replaced
3. Badly scratched new exhaust replaced
4. Drive sprocket replaced (belt retaining flange coming off)
5. Cambelt tensioner pulley broke (French autoroute recovery)
6. Paintwork blistering around indicator stalks and rollover hoops
7. New wheelhub fitted (supersession part which increases gap between drive belt and tyre by about 4mm)
8. Petrol pump failure?? (as I write car is on recovery vehicle to garage after losing all power at busy junction: awaiting my diagnosis to be confirmed)

My head screams "Sell and run", but my heart still smiles everytime I get the goggles out, flick the cover, push the button and feel this unique contraption come to life!

What to do???!!!

Hello

Keep it. They aren’t that serious of issues.

Good job all of those problems can be fixed under warranty, should be trouble free soon! Definitely keep it, we need things to put smiles (or more usually insane grins) on our faces!

Strange that you are having these issues. That model is world renowned as a tough, reliable, trouble free car-------not.

MMC wanted to faithfully reproduce the 1930s motoring experience, where unreliability and breakdown was part of life. hide

Years ago, when I bought an '87 VW Vanagon Syncro someone said, "welcome to the most intense love / hate automotive experience you'll ever have!"

Obviously they've never owned an M3W... LOL/COL (cry out loud)

I guess these perils serve to heighten the experience!

Perhaps there is a correlation to M3W ownership in this...

The last couple weeks in Seattle have seen a very atypical snow event for us at the low elevations. One of the local Weather Scientists (not a network Weather Man paid for their hyperbole by advertisers) wrote an article about how this recent shared adversity brought people together in a way that is uncommon in today's society; https://cliffmass.blogspot.com/

Hmmm...

As long as the warranty keeps filling in the repairs then fine.

"My head screams "Sell and run", but my heart still smiles everytime I get the goggles out, flick the cover, push the button and feel this unique contraption come to life!"

"What to do???!!!"

Keep the damn thing and welcome to the club of the damned!

In the first years with my '12 my list of things going wrong was far longer but they were, for the most part, covered. Morgan even chipped in with a new chassis long after any warranty existed so that was good.

When I can drive, I still smile like an idiot! That's what it's all about!

I keep my Auto Club memberships current and plan on replacing front tires every two years. Not bad for over 45,000 miles!

What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.
