It seems a bit unnecessary to me. You can usually check to see if the inner wings have bowed out due to corrosion between the bulkhead and the inner wing. Even go as far as to remove some of the interior trim to check the bulkhead from inside but taking the wings off is a hassle best avoided if you can!
