You are far to modest Brian. This restoration has put you through the hoops. I can now reveal there where those in the Morgan community who admired your quest and determination for originality but privately noted your project was "too hard and too much work" - you proved them wrong.

I'm suggesting a Morgan victory convoy with police escort along St Georges Terrace to Government House in celebration.

Perhaps fellow Morgan owner Sir William (Bill) Turner can assert some influence in this regard......

Well done Old Son?

What a labour of love! Brian I am sure you are quite rightly proud of your "baby".

Particularly interesting to me as my father ordered a new car, for delivery in Sydney, at the Earls Court Motor Show in 1948.

I would have been one and a half at the time but my mother told me that my father examined very carefully two cars. He had even got down on the floor to look under them.

In the end he decided against the Morgan and ordered an MG which was delivered in 1949. It was the first blue MG to arrive in Australia. He apparently had doubts that the Morgan with its predominantly timber frame would survive the rough Australian roads. Since at that time he had never seen Australian roads I have no idea on what information he based that decision.

I wonder what he would think to see the car that he thought would not survive beautifully restored 70 years later.

What a totally stunning car - if only I had 1% of the skill involved in such a marathon.

And just to add my admiration for the car and the work and tears that have obviously gone into making it what it now is. Beautiful!
