Talk Morgan Forums Community Vehicle Talk (non-Morgan) Earls Court International Motor Show 1948

I know my parents were there and I may have been there too. My father ordered a blue MG that was delivered in Sydney Australia in 1949. He did consider the Morgan but decided against it because he was worried about the durability of the wooden frame on the rough Australian roads. Considering the photos of the Australian '49 Morgan just restored in another thread I wonder what he would think about the wooden frame now.

Unfortunately no MGs or Morgan's that I could see in this film clip.

Liked the blonde with the in-door cocktail cabinet (no drink driving laws then) and also my dream Morris Minor convertible. However I was born the following year and my first MM had a roof!

The thing that amazed me the most was the power up hood (which, incidentally, dropped down below the body line) and the power windows - in 1948!!!!!

Thanks for sharing that Peter, I was surprised we were making MM's in LHD and the Renault claiming 50mpg - had it been a VAG I wouldn't have been
