Hello gentlemen,
Long time no speak. I've resumed my search for a 3 wheeler and spotted a fairly priced 2012 model - Aside from a new chassis it has not received any of the necessary upgrades. What would be a ballpark estimate cost of upgrading one to post 2014 standards ?
If this doesn't work out i'm more likely to just spec one myself and buy it new since the price margin between used and new is fairly small.
Over and out.

Over here to have all the spec upgrades done would be between $8000 to $10,0000, depending on which dealer does the work.

A new owner here in CT recently purchased a 2012 with 38 miles on it and had the vast majority of updates done for closer to $5k through Morgan New England.

Given you have a new chassis you probably won't need the steering mod the engine mods including cooling kit should be around £350 a new steel sprocket around £800 then the biggie the centra upgrade (have the clutch done at the same time) parts and labour. Paid £3400 two years ago.

My recommendation would be to go for a new one. My 2017 model has (touch wood) been much more reliable than the 2013 one I had (although that wouldn’t be difficult.....).

The fact that morgans hold their value better than most cars i've ever owned (yes alfa romeo i'm looking at you) and the sizable investment needed to upgrade an earlier model does make me feel like buying a new one makes more sense.
There's very little financial difference once you compare both columns - An EU3 is definitely looking more and more at me.

I know we've all been here before, but the error seems to be a persistent little devil. CENTA, not CENTRA.
Apologies for my pedantry, but incorrect spelling just drives me nuts.

Go for it, Osten! Love the fact you have two Corvettes. When I was at Le Mans for the 24 hour race in 2008, the sound of the racing Corvettes was just awesome. You could hear them coming when they were three corners away. Such a great, deep V8 bellow.
