A Silk Scott is on my list of bikes I could have bought, for a sensible price, but stupidly didn't. Right up there with a Magni Guzzi and an MV Ipotesi.

Lovely looking bike. We went to the works to see them - cannot remember when, only that I was still quite young. George Silk is a friend of my Dad (we went to his wedding when I was a child).

Looking today through some of my late fathers items, which will be going to auction soon (a Scott Squirrel bike and loads of Scott literature).

In the scrapbook collection he’d amassed was a photocopy of the 1936 road test of a Scott engined Morgan.

I’ve photographed the article and hopefully it will appear here:

It is a pity that it was tucked away at the back of a tent at Montlhery.

I was told that it is not in working order - a pity, because one would have loved at least to to have heard it.

A very interesting machine👍

I would think the modern 5 Speeders that have the manifold locating the air cleaner under the bonnet would make for an easy supercharger addition.

That 'tent' was the Morgan 3W club tent, I was there with my brother & his 1922 Morgan Grand Prix, (originally driven by Mr HFS Morgan in the 1922 ACU Trial) which succesfully completed 4 laps of the circuit, unfortunately, we didn't hear the Scott Special during the 2 days of the event.
