I had a 3.7 for a year - I didn't think it was dangerous. The suspension was similar to a medieval oxcart, but not that tricky to drive.

Good tires combined with respect for the power of the engine.
Cheers,

I suspect there is a vast difference between the earlier 3 litre Roadsters and the later 3.7 litre cars.
I was going to buy a 3 litre but they had just gone out of production and I considered the 3.7 too much for the car weight and chassis. Personally I think 200 HP or thereabouts is as much as I would want in a trad.

I can get myself into as much trouble as I want with 180 HP drive

I agree 100%.
The 3L S2 Roadster we had was a very different animal to the 3.7L.

I think 400 bhp would be the sensible limit for the Aero chassis....
