Come on guys this is not really fair to Morgan, this happens to many cars if you track them. be prepared to spend a few quid or suffer potential engine failure Mulfab have been doing baffled sumps for years you could also consider a windage tray. A dry sump is best but would take up a lot of room.

The (lower) MMC sump isn´t baffled inside due to clearance issues towards the crankshaft - which leads to problems when cornerinh hard continually.
Especially on tracks which bends tend to go just to one side (and are taken enthusiastically) this causes major issues (which was the case in the incident Heinz mentioned).

Overfilling the sump is critical, due to the crankshaft diving through the oil on a permanent(-ish) basis which might lead to "foaming up" the engine oil...

I went the way to install an entire Accusump system 2 years ago & haven´t had any issues since.

It doesn´t matter how fast it becomes, but how it becomes fast. laugh2

Bloody complicated looking at the photos of the engine

Radical also have an in-house design for the oil pumps to help longevity at sustained high rpm. You can see some of their engineering in GuyMartin’s attempt at the fastest Van and the follow-up Nurburgring van series.

Are you sure that isn't the Mecachrone LMP1 engined version Stewart? Searching the net I found spec's for the proposed limited run of fifty Mustang engined G60's as having wet sumps.

Good to hear there is a proven fix to the problem Jochen.

Noble dry sumped the 3.0L V6 and parts are available on line although there is no complete kit as far as I can tell.

Mulfab also do a competition enlarged and baffled sump for the 3.0L.

I agree with Em, if you want to track any car, you need to ensure that its mechanically able to cope with the cornering forces.

ACCUSUMP: They come in various sizes. For complete safety in the 3.7 litre V6 I would recommend this one:

Accusump 16" long 6 pint

I agree. Even the Toyota Elise needs at least a fanned out oil pan, different to the original part when driving track days.

When I was 17.......
If the oil light flickered on hard cornering I knew it was time to top up the oil!
