I had a similar wheel touch on Tarka, a car park idiot....
The local body ship took about 20 mins and 3 levels of polishing compound to cut and polish it out.
He didn't want any payment for the job, happy to play with a Morgan., but I gave him £20.00 anyway.

He commented on the quality and thickness of the pain, which made polishing it out easy.

I can't change the damage until it's inspected by the insurance company.
Fortunately, it is not a big damage and can drive without problems, which I will do drive

Having seen what can be done with hail damage on the Jaguar I would think that that could be straightened and polished to be invisible unless you were specifically looking for it.

I think that if it was me, after the insurance company has seen it, I would be asking one of these hail damage experts to straighten and polish it for me while waiting for the new rear mudguard.

In about 1980 in England I entered a right-hander in a TR7 at roughly 70mph. I was well to the correct side of the centre line. A car coming the other way, at about the same speed I should think, crossed the centre line. There was a "Pok!" noise as the door mirrors touched. Phew!

Amazingly, the Triumph's door mirror showed no sign of damage.

I had a small dent in a similar area when someone reversed into the car.
A smart repairer for dents got the it out in less than 30 mins. Paint was good anyway with no marks. Prodent is the name, based in West Wales.
A smart repairer could also do a paint repair. Find a good one and you won’t see a mark afterwards.
Smart repair is quicker and cheaper than a bodyshop so is worth a look.
From your photos there may be both dent deformation and scuffed paint so you may need to get both done.

Michael, sorry to see your damage, I remember taking some photos of your car in build last year.

On a positive, the damage although distressing, is fairly light surface contact & should not be too difficult to repair - so you can enjoy the summer

I was in relatively heavy traffic on a 4 lane highway one day when I saw a car coming the other way start to wander across the centre line. I thought it would make a head on with the car in front of me and I started to brake and prepare to take avoiding action. As it turned out there was only a clash of mirrors with the car in front of me and the bastard responsible continued without stopping. The traffic was too heavy and fast for me to be able to turn and chase him.

The driver's side windows of the car in front of me was shattered by the impact of the mirror and, with the shock, the woman driving the car did well to keep it completely under control despite being showered with broken glass.

She pulled to the side and both myself and a small truck stopped to see if she was ok. Other than being shaken she had some tiny cuts from the flying glass. I later wrote a witness statement for her because she was concerned about being blamed; it was a company vehicle. A couple of weeks later I received a thank you note and a lottery ticket in the mail.
