Just had a phone call off a good customer he is popping in this a/noon with a cheque . He has a Spitfire has built it from scratch . He told me of an old school pal of his who has worked his way up the greasy pole . Huge house and huge garage with over 50 classic cars and a servicing area . I should not smile but his house was damaged by fire . So he purchased a new bed and put it into the garage which has central heating a shower room etc etc and him and his wife are sleeping in the garage it also has a kitchen etc hence my smile . Just the kind of garage we all want . Hell I would never be out of it along with mates paying a visit and expecting a free lunch made for them while they tinker with there car.

In an ideal world I would have a garage with a kitchen and toilet/shower.

I am in the process of moving house (first time in 40yrs) and my main criteria is a large double garage or room to build one, I am not bothered what the house looks like, so I have let my wife off the leash!!
As the process gathers pace I will have a lot of garage and +8 items to give away or sell.

Sorry Dave been running round like CHICKEN WITH ITS ARSE OF FIRE . But when people hand me money I go weak at the knees and strong at the grip . The lad has just been in his Spitfire is 1.5L did not have any time Murphy's Law we can stand about and then they all charge at the same time . Did not have anymore time to chat to him .

Reg on the subject of Spitfires . My younger brother had one I found them uncomfortable VERY . I tried to learn my brother to drive but his mind was always elsewhere . Heading along our main road a young girl with a short skirt on was leaning over a pram attending to her child . My brother forgot the road homed in and I had to grab the s/wheel . I played hell with him . Took him to an ancient salt road put down long before cars thought of . Only used by farmers now , I thought he was out of harms way and he ended in a dyke . I had to get a farmer to pull him out . I once got a loan of his Spit as my car was off the road in a garage . I had to put petrol in but had met a stunning girl at a dance hall and asked her for a date . She took me to her home to introduce me to her parents . Nice people Her dad was a blacksmith shook my hand and I felt my bones crack . My first thought was "OH HELL" BE GOOD OR ELSE. His Vauxhall was playing him up and he asked if my brother could fix it . I told him "not the way he drives" . We off to a lakeside she had known, very quiet . What a body ( not the Spit ) I had to keep coming up for air and also very much like Dolly Parton . I was on another planet BUT AS BLOODY ALWAYS . What did happen but a bumble bee shot in the car and down her stunning cleavage . What the hell do I do if I put my hand down to try and get it to go it may sting her if not it still might sting me . But to be honest I was thinking BLACKSMITH STRENGTH HELP !! he was never going to believe us broken bones came to mind many times . But thank goodness it came out and flew away . It sort of killed my evening . I still eat honey .BUT I HATE BUMBLE BEES AND OPEN TOP SPITS .

ps. Last year at a car show I was chatting to a woman and she belonged the same village the girl did, knew her well . Told me she is now a grand mother of several kids .
