Noted - I didn't think of safety in the blue color choice - But you have a point - Point for blue ! I was looking at caramel or tan leather.

As for the windshield i've sat in one with the base one but not in one with the tall screen. I'm a fairly tall gentleman (185) so I'll have to rock the sunglasses/goggles pretty much all the time.

last hurdle is EU3 vs EU4 - Not quite clear what is what.

There is an earlier but quite recent thread (I cannot find it just now) about the requirements for importing an EU3 vs EU4 into France. Bear in mind that an EU4 modified with the 'EU3 Appearance Pack' will not meet the EU4 requirement during its first 20,000 km.

EU4
Cont.
Take a look at these Osten
These are the changes that have been made for EU4 compliance.
convert to EU3 - 4

This is what can be done to change it all back.

The new rear lights, wheel arch and mirrors are a joke.
Ride height and intake i could live with.

My car has had the wheel arch mod, lowering mod and light mod undertaken.

However, i will be changing the mirrors to a more period style.
The intake i will sort myself.

Depending on funds, i will change the exhaust and intake and one or two other items when time permits.

At the moment, the look is far more important than the performance.
John.

You can still buy an EU3 car (Bell & Covil or Krazy Horse and maybe some other UK dealers) and it's cheaper than EU4 with the EU3 mods.

EU4 is 60 kg heavier and has 68 bhp / 129 Nm torque vs EU3 82 / 140 - that makes a big difference.

I have it second hand that my dealer would not buy in a EU4 car moded to EU3. Make sure you fully understand the rules about registering in France before you do any EU4 to EU3 mods preferably in writing not just an assurance "it will be OK".
The blue one you saw on Car & Classic has SVA (Single Vehicle Approval) for UK registration but you could not register it new in France.

So the horrible pipes in front of the v-twin has to be put back to pass EU registrations ?

In theory if i buy an EU3 - could I ship the car back to MMC when I head back to France and have them convert it into an EU4 ?

It is still years away for me and I'm still fighint on how to deal with this. Go EU4 now and have it "look" like an EU3 and re-set everything to full EU4 specs when I head back OR go full EU3 for now and let future me worry about it.

I've written to MMC about this but no answer (i'm guessing Geneva)

...

I think you need to keep it as an EU4 and plan for a Stage 1 kit for EU4 at some point! OR get some advice from our Gallic 3 wheelers as to whether officialdom in La France is likely to care at all about EU spec status when you re-register it there... it might be that a nice bottle of Bordeaux "smooths" the certification process!

Does it normally take over a week for MMC to answer emails ?

I just wish i could get my questions answered. I know the Geneva MS is probably taking all their attention away. Do guys have a better email than the generic form on their website ?
