Obviously, the VC is banking on Morgan filling a niche. That niche becomes more diehard 'old school' as mass produced vehicles become electric.
But I wonder how many 'new drivers' will even know how to drive a stick in five years. I bought the M3W precisely because it IS a stick but not sure if that is relevant in the medium term.

Morgan is the definition of a niche market, and I'd offer that they are really the only one in their niche.
There are other 3-wheelers, cheaper, faster, perhaps "better" and more modern. Just as there are cheaper, faster, and more "real car" sports cars. In fact, in any objective comparison, a Morgan would loose. A $100k car with side curtains? Really?
But there continue to be a demand for them, thank goodness! I seriously doubt there is much market expansion to be had, but I could see the Plus 6 as successfully blending the modern with the traditional in a very unique way.
Just one ask - please bring on a manual gearbox, and sales in the US. Even so, I can't see replacing my C7 Corvette convertible daily driver with a Plus 6 that costs twice as much. And I can't see replacing my M3W with anything - period.

I'm pretty sure they said the manual version was coming next. Or did I dream that too ? Top Gear magazine said there's a manual on its way... I do like the BMW manual in my Plus 8. It is quite long throw but smooth and very easy to move around the box (unlike the Tremec box on my Proteus!).

- that "stick shift" picture is not a Plus Six... Yup... I saw that pic elsewhere amongst the same set, on the launch day. So it must've come from a press pack. It's good to know that Morgan's maintaining the tradition of good old fashioned cock ups. :-) Will

I'm a believer in 'apologizing for price once...but never for quality of the driving experience'. It's also about cost of ownership, not price.

The third generation couldn't hold onto the company, what a cliche.
I had a rough night over this news until i remembered what a nightmare it was getting my car.

I have a modest background in acquisitions for a private equity company, and my experience tells me the "3rd generation curse" is more likely to be related to the larger number of family members taking income from the business than it is competency of those 3rd generation family members active in the business. With each generation you have more "mouths to feed" and with that comes complex and often competing strategies on how to keep everyone happy-which is of course nigh on impossible. The problem is compounded with smaller companies, like Morgan, where just a few million pounds, more or less, available for future product/compliance investment can make or break the business.
