Hi All
any tips for a new Morgan owner ('88 4/4) on how to fold away an old style hood neatly.

If you mean the 9 stud, I usually fold in half, across the way so to speak, then fold in the side windows and that should be enough, you don’t want to be folding the plastic if you can help it and I also put a cloth or the blanket I carry in with the folds to protect it from scratching the windows.
I might be wrong, but I don’t think you can let the frame down with the hood attached like the easy up does.

Good tip re the window care, thanks Ewn, I assume you should unclip the side turnbuckles before folding.
Thanks also for the welcomes!! Its only been a 40 year love affair and 22 years an MSCC member before finally being in a position to get a car and she is a real honey!! Thanks Tim Ayres!!

Be careful not to scratch the transparent bits or put anything abrasive near them. If they get scratched Meguiars PlastRX does a good job on light scuffs.

You didn't say if you have the John Taylor swivl pivots. Fit if you don't have!
Using those and dropping the frame first there is no real strain on the windscreen therefore drop the frame first.
When you say folding the hood, that depends on whether you mean fold to store off the car or leaving it attached at the rear to keep in place for more rapid erection (so to speak) while travelling.
If the latter, I loosen the side catches but leave the rear fixings attached. I drape the hood over the rear of the car/spare wheel, fold in the side flaps and roll the hood, therefore no folds in the plastic rear window, rolling the hood and tucking it in the car behind the seats.
Each to his own I guess.
