I love the Brooklands screen car - really different and fun. It has a TVR V8 in the engine bay & a rad at the rear with an ali tub. O-60 at Santa Pod with N2O is 3 secs. These were musicians we met in Modena who were playing concerts at camp sites for Children in Need. Thanks for the detail John, what a car and great bunch to meet up with.

Yes it was. The V8 car had an exhaust silencer blow out. The Italian Kwik fit team fitted a straight through pipe. It was loud!

I found a photo of the V8. It is rear wheel drive.

Thanks for the picture, that is really cosy in there a great bit of engineering and it must have sounded really good with the straight pipe on it. Now we know where MMC got the 8 on the radiator from for the run out models

A freind of mine has bought the cooper, I’ve offered to help him collect it, the trailer will be used for half of it, the brush and dustpan will do the rest!
I’ll be able to report on the progress, but don’t hold your breath, he’s slower than me.

I have rebuilt many cooper's in the past and it's a breeze if you can weld and have a methodical approach.

I really would have given it a go, but wifey put her foot down this time, pointing out, our kitchen is older than that car!
It’s amazing how bad the condition of the mini is, my Caterham is five years older and is merely patina-ed. My Subaru is five years newer, yet indistinguishable from new.
