I just ordered some goodies from Emil for my Morgan and he seems like quite a fan of the his fan run switch. I had a turbo car that I put a timer on it so it would run so the turbo would cool down so kind of a similar principle. Anyone have a view of the merits?

I put an off delay switch on the (aftermarket multi-blade) cooling fan of my E-type which helped tremendously with keeping the car cool during the frequent short stop all day runs we often do with a local British car club. That big 6 holds a lot of heat.
Likely would have similar benefit to the M3W under similar conditions, but doesn't seem necessary for normal outings.

our plus 8 runs hot as well, but the radiator fan stays on even after turning off the engine, until cool enough. Never had any issues with the battery,
On the M3W you are talking very little oil, to cool if it is an oil cooler fan. If you mean the urban cooling fan, yes I definitely see how that would help cool the heads, which is where all the heat is,
2Sharp.... where are you located?

Rodger not too far away up in Leesburg.
The switch is to keep the urban cooling fan on for a bit longer.

I have the run on switch for the Urban cooling fan and it does help cool the heads after a run. As in my +8 the run on of the fan after turning off the engine helps cool things down, rather than the dead stop. Has no ill effects on the battery.

On the +8 I have an override switch so can run the fan as the heat builds rather than wait until it cuts in, linked to a small warning light. If really hot leave it running after stopping.
