I was told by one "expert" that my 2104 Plus 8 is a "pastiche" , that is an imitation of the real Plus 8. We never have this problem with an Aston.

PocketRocket- Being a satisfied Morgan West client and cognizant of the fact that a considerable amount of your time is now being invested in Morgan public relations anyway, you might approach Dennis with a sales idea..... Have him load you up with some of his business cards, in order that you distribute them to potential clients as you see fit. Naturally you have to agree on finder's fees or commission rate if you score. Wouldn't hurt to ask, or would it?.... Certainly would appreciate a photo-peek under the bonnet of your lovely car PR - Steps ahead, Dennis made sure to load my Glove Box with his business cards, which I am more than happy to pass out! Maybe I will scribble my name or Morgan Order number on his card to make sure he knows where the referral comes from... Hopefully he can get some traction from the visibility of my Morgan! it all starts with 1 to purchase... - as for the photo under the bonnet... I'll post some

I have the digital version of the build book on my phone which I show as a slide-show to any interested person. I have added, in the right place, a photo of the ash frame because it was lacking from the build book (not in the version that I uploaded to the forum). http://www.talkmorgan.com/ubbthreads.php/galleries/106295/Morgan_Plus_4_Build_Record

officially, it is a kit as the motor and drivetrain were installed here I recall filling up my wife's plus 8 and a guy with a boring sedan says to me, "I've seen a bunch of those".... to which I replied, "No you haven't"

Took my Plus 8 for it yearly MOT yesterday and whilst waiting for it two people came into the garage bay. One asked the tester what it was and he stated it’s a Morgan and the reply was “They are made in Wales aren’t they” The other person asked me if it was a diesel? I nearly spat my coffee out. It passed with flying colours anyway which is the main thing and the peasants can say what they want.

Took my Plus 8 for it yearly MOT yesterday ....It passed with flying colours My +8 has failed every MOT it's ever had. It's MOT history looks like a punch up in Rymans. Failed on parking brake efficiency. Advisories on Outer Tie rod ball joint. Failed on main beam tell-lale not working. Failed on offside headlamp aim. Advisories on indicator tell-tale. Advisories on registration plate lamp. Advisories on outer suspension rod pin. And it's only 4 years old. Were I to ever sell it (which I hope not to), any buyer would see it's had more fails than passes! Meanwhile my ancient Range Rover has passed everything. Irritating.

I feel your pain. The Coupe came out of the same box but oddly the S2 just rolls on without a glitch. I have a friendly garage and they perform a pre-MOT inspection on the car for me now. It has always passed but needed some legal assistance or it would have failed.
First MOT was headlights, screen washers, rear brakes, track rod ends, emmissions (get it really hot due to sidepipes). Then it got the front suspension bushes and wipers which have never parked correctly and self distruct. This year will be interesting.

Mind you that was 20 years ago.

Alistair, Neil,
the rear brakes are always marginal on auto box Aero based cars, probably because they are rarely used. I have taken to driving along with them on for a few hundred yards every month.
The Indicator and main beam LEDs are part of a block that has a limited life. On mine the Main Beam worked occasionally and the EBD light failed totally. Williams changed it: for a Morgan it was inexpensive, less than £100. The new ones are very bright...for now!

I console myself with the fact that an annual service at SGT was £368. I don't think I have ever had a service that low on something with an AMG badge or a V8. Okay the good ladies Mini was less but we don't get people stopping us in the street and confessing love when we drive that. That will of course be raised when the work to replace the front suspension lower arms/bushes takes place I should never speak to soon. Our little rumble in London last night made it all better. Nothing beats some time out in the car.
